How to File Sales Tax in Oklahoma


How to Register: You can register your business with the state of Oklahoma online or by completing a paper form and mailing it in.

Registration Cost: $20 fee for first location, an additional $10 fee for each additional location.

Filing Requirements: All vendors are required to file electronically rather than on paper

Due Date: Returns and payments are due on 20th of the month following the end of period.

What Will You Need: To register your account with OkTAP you will need the following information:

  • Account ID: This is a 13-character account ID assigned to OTC business accounts located on correspondence from the OTC regarding any of the accounts listed on the above guide.
  • Federal Tax Identification Number:
    • SSN for sole proprietors
    • FEIN for businesses
  • Email Address: A valid email address is required to receive an email confirmation of your registration and an authorization code to use when you login for the first time.
  • Zip Code: The zip code on file with the OTC for the tax account you are registering.


Renewal: Permits will be issued on a probationary basis for six (6) months and will be automatically renewed for an additional 30 months, if you timely file your reports and remit the appropriate taxes due.
