How to Register: In order to register for sales tax, please follow the application process outlined on Form 518, Complete Registration Booklet. The form may be completed on line at Michigan Business One Stop or the completed application may be mailed to the address listed on the form.
Registration Cost: No fee.
Due Date: Monthly and Quarterly filers must remit returns and payments on or before the 20thday of the following month. Annual Filers must remit by February 28th, with discount for early remittance. All Businesses are required to file an annual return each year.
Where to File: If filing according to SST rules use Michigan’s Online SER. Otherwise see “Filing Requirements” for other options.
What Will You Need: You will need your assigned 9-digit federal employer identification number (FEIN) or Michigan Treasury number and the sales tax amount due.
Renewal: Every sales tax license expires on September 30 of each year, regardless of the date the license is issued, and shall be renewed by furnishing such information as the
Michigan Department of Treasury may require.
